DUE PIU' DUE FA QUATTRO. Il mio Report da Bratislava (ITA + ENG version)

Caro Direttore,

"...Ci si domanda, cioè, un "futuro più luminoso" è veramente e sempre un problema di un lontano "là"? non è, invece, qualcosa che è già qui da un pezzo e che solo la nostra miopia e la nostra fragilità ci impediscono di vedere e sviluppare intorno a noi e dentro di noi?"

Si concludeva così, nel 1978, il più famoso scritto di Vaclav Havel, "Il potere dei senza poter". Conosciuto come uno dei migliori testi su una ipotetica società post-totalitaria, risulta oggi più che mai attuale. Scritto in un contesto dittatoriale, poneva già le domande per un avvenire dove fosse evidente che non una ideologia, non una politica, non una economia sarebbero state la salvezza dell'uomo. Ci si domanda allora: cos'è il potere dei senza potere? Nella periferia di Bratislava - una volta esisteva la Cecoslovacchia - un wallpaper di 280 x 580 cm raffigura dei bambini intenti in una operazione semplicissima: scrivere che due più due fa quattro. La "verità" (pravda) è dunque il "potere dei senza potere" (je moc bezmocnych)? George Orwell scrisse che la libertà non è dire che 2 + 2 = 5. Havel andò in prigione perchè sostenne che la libertà non coincide con il sostenere il pensiero di massa. In una società dove la verità è condizionata dal proprio arbitrio, l'ingenua libertà di quei bambini che su un muro di Bratislava scrivono solo che due più due fa quattro può essere di insegnamento, per poter partire non da una idea, ma dalla evidenza della realtà.

"...We ask ourselves: is a "lighter future" really and always a problem about a far away "there"? Is not something that have already been here for a long time, instead, and that only our blindness and fragilty make impossible for us to see and develop around us and inside us?"

That's the conclusion of, in 1978, Vaclav Havel's most famous text "The power of the powerless". Knowed as one of the best texts about an hypotetical post-totalitarian society, turn out to be extremely up-to-date. Written in a dictatorial contest, already questioned about a future where it would have been clear that not an ideology, not politics, not economy, would have been salvation for people. Therefore we ask ourselves: what is "the power of the powerless"? In Bratislavian suburbs - there was Cecoslovacchia at a previous time - a wallpaper around 280 x 580 cm shows some children doing a simple operation: they are writing that two plus two is equal to four. "Truth" (pravda) is the "the power of the powerless" (je moc bezmocnych)? George Orwell wrote that freedom is not say that 2 + 2 = 5. Havel went to jail because he said that freedom didn't correspond to supporting mass-thought. In a society where truth depends on one's will, those children candid freedom who wrote that two plus two it's four on a wall of Bratislava can be a teaching, in order to start not from an idea, but from the evidence of reality.
